Abstract
: Among the various activities carried out in specialized hospitals, there are those carried out by the pharmacy. Hospital Pharmaceutical Assistance (HPA) covers a set of services with the purpose of guaranteeing access to quality medicines with rational use by its users. Thus, the objective of this work was to evaluate the structure, processes and results of HPA at the Hematology Reference Hospital of the State of Pernambuco (HEMOPE), based on the development of a logical model and the elaboration of a matrix of applicable indicators, in general, to hospital pharmaceutical services. The indicators were evaluated within the quality dimensions proposed by Donabedian: Structure (S), Process (P) and Result (R). Data were collected retrospectively for 2022 and the results were expressed as percentage frequencies of compliance. The overall HEMOPE compliance rate was 46.2%. According to each dimension, this rate was: S-50.0%, P-48.5% and R-0.00%. The results dimension indicators were the lowest and reveal that activities related to clinical pharmacy, therefore, are those that most require development. It is concluded that it is still necessary to improve several aspects of the structure, processes and results of HPA at HEMOPE and that the matrix of indicators developed was useful and easy to apply to the evaluation of the pharmacy of this health establishment. Furthermore, it is a low-cost tool that can be used to evaluate pharmaceutical services in any hospital unit.
